I find that my productivity (or lack thereof) affects my outlook on life. If you’re like me, you take your mobile phone most everywhere. With a Smartphone I can not only cram more productivity into my day but I can also be more organized and efficient as well. For example, when driving, I can listen to MP3 news stories or sermons that I’ve downloaded. My kids have lots of friends and sleepovers making the GPS navigation a time saving godsend. When in meetings, I can view my calendar and schedule new appointments on the fly. Any idle time can be used to jot down a thought or task. I can
use it to read a book, the bible or the customized news feeds that are automatically delivered to my device. There are a host of other productivity tools that can be freely downloaded as well. Most wireless service providers offer a range of Smartphones at deep discounts provided you make a two year service plan commitment. Many now require you to sign up for a data plan which can be spendy (an additional $20-$30 per month). Alternatively, you may want to consider the “Straight Talk” plan that Walmart offers as it includes unlimited text and data plan for $45 (about the same price of basic cellular basic service without text or data)! Although I'm not positive this will work, I'm confident that an unlocked GSM smartphone can be used in combination with the Straight Talk network. As I understand, Straight Talk leases bandwidth from other major cellular networks so I’d think the quality should be comparable. I haven’t made the switch myself but I’m planning to do so once my cell phone contract expires. If you have already done so, please share your insights. Bottom line, with little effort a Smartphone can be a great tool to free you up to do more with your life. [Pro 19:15]
